• Safety and environmental aspects on Oiltankers and Tankterminals.
• Containment and prevention of oilspills inside the harbour.
• Founder and former Chairman of the existing Oilboom-pool in the Port of Rotterdam.
• Chairman of several workinggroups in the Rotterdam Port area.
• Due Diligence inspections on Tank Terminals.
• Investigation on ship incidents and accidents.
• Evaluation of existing tankstoragefacility in Northern Europe, in respect to competiveness and marketability as well as the requirements to meet the common demands of an independent 3rd party terminal facility.
• Consultancy for a major Port expansion project of "Open Sea Tanker Terminal" in the Middle East e.g. 1) optimizing topside connections to provide operations flexibility i.e. manifolds etc. 2) study and recommendations for max & min number of berths to accomodate customers. 3) Proposing suitable piping from manifold to loading arm. 4) Jetty lay-out et cetera.
• Oil Spill Response study: This study consists of an alternative for the Ordinance brought by the Port Authorities whereby a tanker during discharge operations, has to be surrounded by an oil boom. The Terminal lay-out as well as the local meteorological weather condions etc., will make the precise adoption of the Ordinance, hardly feasible.
