Oil Spill Response Study.
Tankstorage terminal in Italy:
Review of the existing Oil Spill Response Plan. The study includes an alternative plan for the Port Authority Ordinance, indicating that each tanker has to be surrounded by an oil boom, during the cargo handling operations.
The proposed Oil Spill Response System will consists of a permanent installed oil boom of HDPE material, which will be positioned underneath the jetties (see: "Oil Barrier" ).
Furthermore, the system will consists of pontoons with permanent installed containers with oil booms on hydraulicly operated reels. An oil detection system will alert in an early stage in case of an oil spill. This will optimize the intervention time and pollution containment.

Oil Spill Response.
As Founder and former Chairman of the Rotterdam Oilboom-pool organization, there is a wide knowledge on hand in the area of Oil Spill Response e.g. prevention & containment of oil spills inside port area.

One of the Oilboom containers in the Port of Rotterdam and owned by the Rotterdam Oilboompool organization.

Oil pollution in Port.
Rendering ( legal ) advice to fisherman who was left to face an enormous oil pollution, in an attemp to catch up with the causer.
There was a close cooperation with The Ministery of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, the Port Authorities and the Police.
No income for the fisherman over the period of approx. 18 months.
Finally the oil pollution was stopped, without finding the cause.
The most important was "a happy fisherman" after this nasty period of time.

Besides the technical inspections, there is also the option for investigation of the on board incidents.
